GM Defense Delivers Vehicle to Army Fast
Just 120 days from the contract award to the delivery of the Infantry Squad Vehicle
GM Defense delivered the first Infantry Squad Vehicle (ISV) it built for the U.S. Army—just 120 days after it was awarded the contract. The all-terrain troop carrier is based on the 2020 Chevrolet Colorado ZR2 midsize truck architecture. 90% of the parts used to build it are commercial, off-the-shelf components—including the shelf of Chevrolet Performance.

The vehicle weighs approximately 5,000 pounds, so it can be brought into theater slung from a UH-60 Blackhawk helicopter, and it is sized so that it can be carried within a CH-47 Chinook helicopter.
The vehicle can carry a nine-solider infantry squad and its gear.
Ricardo Defense collaborated with GM Defense on the ISV program.
GM Defense received a $214 million contract with the U.S. Army in June to produce 649 ISVs and to support, with additional authorization, as many as 2,065 vehicles during an eight-year period.
