Nissan Motor Co.’s Infiniti arm says its all-electric Qs sport sedan previews an upcoming production model.

The carmaker will publicly unveil the Qs at this month’s Shanghai auto show. The sedan will be launched after the debut in 2021 of the production version of the QX Inspiration concept electric crossover, which was displayed at the Detroit auto show in January.

A teaser image of the Qs shows the vehicle will feature individual taillights rather than the QX’s single-bar design. Other styling cues include a panoramic glass roof, fastback-type rear and cameras in place of rearview side mirrors. Infiniti says the interior will be split into two zones: a clutter-free cockpit designed to engage the driver, and a “relaxed” passenger area.

The QX, Qs and other upcoming models will ride on a dedicated platform Infiniti is developing for electrified vehicles. The chassis will accommodate parallel- and series-hybrid architectures, such as the e-Power system that uses a small gasoline engine to power an electric motor that drives the wheels.
