Volkswagen AG’s Bentley brand isn’t developing a “baby” SUV or a coupe-like fastback variant of its Bentayga SUV/crossover vehicle, says CEO Adrian Hallmark.

He rejects persistent rumors to the contrary in an interview with Australia’s CarSales website. But he also says the marque hasn’t tapped the Bentayga’s potential and will continue to improve the vehicle through new technologies.

The ultra-luxury performance SUV, which starts at more than $230,000, currently accounts for half of Bentley’s global sales volume.

Hallmark also hints at the potential for “different twists” on SUV/crossovers in the future, but declines to elaborate. He also reiterates that the company plans to launch an electric vehicle by 2025.
