The research facility will look at Asia-specific issues involving battery materials, the human-machine interface and urban mobility.
The lab will be staffed initially by five scientists and six doctoral students, according to the partners. Operations will be co-managed by Mirjam Storim, BMW's coordinator of university operations; and Prof. Subodh Mhaisalkar, director of NTU's Energy Research Institute.
The Singapore lab is BMW's eighth involving universities around the world.
