Italian performance brake system supplier Brembo SpA has hired Daniele Schillaci to take over as CEO on July 1.
Brembo says Schillaci’s primary objective will be to double the company’s annual revenue to at least €5 billion from €2.6 billion in 2018, in large part through acquisitions.
The 54-year-old Italian’s most recently was head of global marketing and sales, and electric vehicle programs, for Nissan Motor Co. He will succeed Andrea Marescotti, who is leaving Brembo to pursue other projects, according the company.
Schillaci joined Nissan in 2015 from Toyota Motor Corp. He previously worked in sales and marketing at Renault and then Fiat. His impending departure from Nissan was first reported last month by Kyodo News.
Schillaci is the most recent non-Japanese senior executive to exit Nissan after the arrest of former CEO Carlos Ghosn last November on charges of financial wrongdoing.
