General Motors Co. is freshening the Cadillac XT5 midsize crossover vehicle with styling updates and a new engine option.

The 2020 model sports a slightly bolder grille, standard LED headlamps and 18-inch wheels. Interior changes include Cadillac’s latest infotainment system and new color and trim options.

The new engine is a turbocharged, 2.0-liter 4-cylinder mill that makes 237 hp and 258 lb-ft of torque. The current 3.6-liter V-6, which generates 310 hp and 271 lb-ft of torque, remains.

Both engines are paired with a 9-speed automatic transmission, which replaces the previous 8-speed unit. Vehicles with the turbo-4 also get a new electronic braking system. The Sport trim package features improved driving dynamics and quicker steering response.

New standard safety features include a high-resolution backup camera, lane-keeping assist, forward pedestrian detection and front park assist. Two head-up display units are available as options.
