Ali Vahabzadeh, who co-founded Ford Motor Co.’s Chariot ride-share service four years ago, has quit as CEO but will remain on the company’s board.

Ford bought San Francisco-based Chariot Transit Inc. in 2016. Now operating in several cities worldwide, the service shuttles groups of about a dozen riders at a time along routes that are determined by rider demand and location.

Ford said in January when it realigned its mobility business that Chariot would refocus on providing businesses with employee transport services. Vahabzadeh says he is looking for a new inspiration and the opportunity to again create a new business.
