The company previously invested more than $600 million to open about 20 plants there, including three last year in Chengchun, Sichuan and Yantai. Delphi makes a wide range of electrical, electronic and powertrain components in the country.
Earlier this month the company launched its aftermarket Delphi Connect automotive connectivity system in China. The device, which creates a vehicle-cloud connection, plugs into a cars onboard diagnostics port.
Delphi Connect enables owners to monitor their car's condition, trip history and location remotely through a smartphone. Owners also can use it receive alerts if another user drives the car beyond preset boundaries a feature also geo-fencing.
