PSA Peugeot Citroen’s DS Automobiles unit plan to introduce a new high-performance suspension in 2018.

Eric Apode, the brand’s product and development chief, tells reporters the new suspension will be an advanced electronic system rather than a return to DS’s classic hydro-pneumatic set-up. The DS system also will be different from the suspension sister division Citroen plans to launch next year on the C5 sedan, according to Apode.

DS, which was spun off from Citroen two years ago, plans to eventually offer the new suspension technology in all its models. Aprode made his comments this week at the launch of the luxury brand’s redesigned DS 3 compact hatchback and DS 3 Performance derivative.
