Honda Motor Co. says the all-electric E Prototype small car it will introduce at next week’s Geneva auto show is 95% production ready.
Images that the carmaker released this week indicate the EV will maintain the basic look of the 2017 Urban EV concept. The five-door city car features a rounded design, circular LED headlights, cameras in place of rearview mirrors and a charging port integrated into the hood.
The vehicle rides on a new modular platform with a relatively long wheelbase and wide track. Designed specifically for EVs, the architecture packages the motor over the rear wheels and the battery within the floor.
The layout also promises to increase interior space. Honda boasts that passengers will enjoy lounge-like comfort with plush seats and a flat floor. Other highlights include a digital instrument cluster and a wide screen positioned on top of a flat dashboard.
