Hyundai Names Interim CEO for Americas
Hyundai Motor Co. has named long-time executive Yong-woo (William) Lee to serve as interim president and CEO of its Americas operation.
Hyundai Motor Co. has named long-time executive Yong-woo (William) Lee to serve as interim president and CEO of its Americas operation.
Lee is the unit’s fourth CEO in five years. He succeeds Kyung Soo (Kenny) Lee, who occupied the CEO position for 11 months. Kyung Lee’s predecessor held the position for two years before being fired in December 2016 for failing to meet sales targets.
William Lee most recently headed Hyundai’s Brazilian unit. He also is a past head of the Hyundai’s international sales and once managed overseas sales for San Francisco-based Hyundai Mobis Parts.
Hyundai says it has launched an immediate search for the next permanent president and CEO of Hyundai Motor America.
