Hyundai Motor Co. is looking for a domestic partner to mass-produce the fold-up Ioniq electric scooter it unveiled at last year’s CES show in Las Vegas, a source tells The Korea Herald.

The carmaker has transferred the scooter’s design to its Hyundai Rotem locomotive manufacturing unit, according to the source. The company confirms it is in the process of selecting a bidder.

In July, Hyundai applied for a U.S. patent for the scooter. The unit shown at CES in 2017 was designed to fit into the door of Hyundai’s Ioniq hybrid and electric cars when not in use. It also came equipped with a shoulder strap for easy carrying.
