Mumbai-based Vakrangee Ltd. plans to expand its network of electric vehicle charging stations from 3,500 facilities across India today to 75,000 in 2022 and 300,000 in 2025.

The ramp-up will support India’s aggressive EV goal, which calls for completely phasing out sales of gasoline- and diesel-powered vehicles by 2030. By that time, one-fourth of the cars and trucks on the road in India are expected to be EVs, and charging stations are due to be located at least every 25 km (16 miles) on highways.

Vakrangee’s charging stations will be paired with the company’s Kendra outlets, which include convenience stores, banking ATMs and other services.
