Jaguar Land Rover Ltd. plans to introduce five new models over the next two years.
The rollout will start with the redesigned Defender SUV later this year, according to Autocar. The British magazine says three variants of that model will be produced at the carmaker’s new factory in Nitra, Slovakia.
Also in the works are a new Land Rover crossover vehicle, the Jaguar J-Pace crossover, next-generation Range Rover SUV and an all-electric replacement for the XJ sedan.
Each new model will be built on JLR’s flexible MLA architecture, which can support a variety of electrified powertrains and over-the-air software updates. All-electric versions of the Range Rover and Discovery SUVs are expected to be added by 2025.
