Kia’s all-new models will offer true truck performance and won’t be all-show “lifestyle” vehicles, Damien Meredith, chief operating officer of Kia’s Australia unit, tells CarsGuide. He says the lineup will include single- and dual-cab variants and offer a range of gasoline and diesel engines.
Hyundai also is developing a compact pickup based on the 2015 Santa Cruz concept. Due in 2021, the small pickup is expected to share a unibody platform with the next-generation Tucson crossover vehicle. A Kia variant a of the unnamed model is being considered.
