Nissan Motor Co. confirms reports that it will discontinue the Versa Note hatchback in North America this year.

The carmaker has only about 300 of the 2019-model hatchbacks left and will not offer a 2020 model, reports CarsDirect. Sales in other markets, where the car is known simply as the Versa, are expected to continue.

Nissan also will continue the Versa sedan in the U.S., with an all-new model to be unveiled on Friday in Florida. Sales of the car are expected to start late this year.

Combined demand for the Versa Note and Versa sedan plunged nearly 29% last year in the U.S. Buyers have shifted to Nissan’s crossover vehicles, such as the Rogue, Rogue Sport and all-new Kicks, which offer comparable fuel economy and greater utility, CarsDirect notes.
