Ford Motor Co.’s upcoming Lincoln Aviator SUV/crossover will be base-priced at $52,200 when it arrives in U.S. dealerships this summer.

The plug-in hybrid variant of the 2020 model will start at $69,900. The top-end Black Label package stickers for $78,800, while the plug-in hybrid Black Label will go for $88,900.

The Aviator shares a rear-wheel-drive platform with the next-generation Ford Explorer SUV. Positioned between the Nautilus and larger Navigator, the Aviator is expected to be Lincoln’s highest-volume model.

The base model is powered by a twin-turbo 3.0-liter V-6 that generates 400 hp and 450 lb-ft of torque. The engine is paired with a 10-speed transmission. All-wheel drive is standard. Output is increased to 450 hp and 600 lb-ft in the hybrid model.

Among the standard features are 19-inch wheels, active grille shutters, power tailgate, rearview camera, 10-way heated front seats, wi-fi hotspot, a 10-inch infotainment screen and a host of driver-assist technologies. The “glide” suspension can adjust settings based on input from a forward-facing camera that scans the road for potholes and other obstacles.

The Aviator also features a "phone as a key" app that can be used to lock, unlock and start the vehicle without the presence of a physical key. As many as four phones can be connected. If the phone's battery dies, Lincoln says a backup passcode can be entered on the exterior keypad to enter the vehicle, and the center touch screen can be used to start the engine.
