Delivers of commercial trucks and buses across Europe rose 3% to 219,600 units in May, according to trade group ACEA.

Results were mixed among the region’s five largest markets. Sales grew in France (+2% to 42,300 units) and Spain (+8% to 23,000). Volume declined in German (-1% to 31,700 vehicles) and was flat in the U.K. (32,400) and Italy (19,200).

Demand for light-duty commercial vehicles climbed 4% to 182,700 units. Sales of heavy-duty trucks dropped 3% to 27,000 rigs. Bus deliveries rose 3% to 3,600 units.

Truck sales through the first five months of 2018 climbed 4% to 1.03 million units, according to ACEA.
