Paris-based Valeo SA and Jerusalem-based Mobileye NV are collaborating to develop advanced front-facing camera systems for cars.

Valeo will use Mobileye's EyeQ microprocessors and computer vision algorithms in a range of front-facing camera and sensor-related products. Devices will include monocular cameras for collision avoidance systems and high-end functions that involve non-scanning LEDs, radar and trifocal cameras.

These co-developed products all will run on Mobileye's EyeQx system-on-a-chip technology, according to the companies.

In addition, the partners plan to develop automated-driving vision systems that combine cameras and laser scanning. Those products will combine Valeo's laser scan systems with Mobileye's image processing know-how.
