Modern Machine Shop Announces Top Shops Honorees for 2021
Annual Benchmarking Program Identifies Best Practices at Best-In-Class Manufacturing Facilities

Modern Machine Shop’s annual Top Shops benchmarking survey results include a detailed data analysis report, identification of emerging operational and business metrics, and the unveiling of this year’s four program winners.
The annual survey enables owners and managers of U.S. machine shops to compare their operations’ performance and practices against industry leaders. The survey is divided into four primary sections: machining technology, shopfloor practices, business strategies and human resources. An Honors Program winner is chosen for each of these categories:
- Machining Technology - Reich Tool & Design, Inc, Menomonee Falls, WI
- Shopfloor Processes & Practices - Forest City Gear, Roscoe, IL
- Business Strategies and Performance - ACR Machine, Coatesville, PA
- Human Resources – AccuRounds, Avon, MA
“Each year, Honors Program winners are vetted and selected from a top-tier benchmarking group established from answers to select survey questions,” says Matt Danford, Modern Machine Shop’s executive editor and technical director for the magazine’s Top Shops benchmarking program and event. “This year’s honorees demonstrate a dedication to improving manufacturing operations and a willingness to share and learn from others.”
The Top Shop awards will be handed out during the inaugural Top Shops Expo (topshopsexpo.com) held October 12-14 in Cincinnati, Ohio. The 2021 Honorees will also be part of a panel discussion where they will elaborate on ways they have improved as a shop and grown their business.
