Motor Trend Names Chevy Colorado Truck of the Year

General Motors Co.'s new midsize Chevrolet Colorado pickup has been named Motor Trend magazine's 2015 Truck of the Year.

The Colorado topped six other contenders, including its GMC Canyon sibling and Ford Motor Co.'s redesigned aluminum-intensive F-150.

MT considered only trucks and vans that were entirely new or significantly updated for the 2015 model year. It says the Colorado won by a rare unanimous vote. Contenders were rated in terms of design, performance, engineering, safety, efficiency and value.
