New-Car Sales Drop 10% in Canada

Demand for new cars in Canada fell 5% 984,600 units in the first half of 2019, including a 10% drop to 182,300 vehicles in June.

Car sales in Canada have fallen below year-earlier volumes for 16 consecutive months. 

All major producers posted declines in June. The group was led by Ford (-3% to 30,300), Toyota (-2% to 22,800), General Motors (-22% to 21,600), Hyundai-Kia (-2% to 21,600) and Nissan (-13% to 13,200), according to a compilation by Automotive News.
