Demand for cars and crossover vehicles in Germany grew 5% to 332,800 units in July, according to KBA, the country’s motor transport agency.

Sales through the first seven months of 2019 totaled 2.18 million, up 1% over the same period last year.

Demand for diesel-powered vehicles continued to shrink last month, falling 7% and reducing diesel’s market share to 33%. Deliveries of gasoline-fueled vehicles dipped 2% for a 58% share.

KBA says 6,000 all-electric vehicles were registered in July, more than double the number in July 2018.
