First-off production versions of the Toyota Supra, Shelby Mustang GT500 s and Ford GT Heritage Edition high-performance cars fetched millions of dollars at auction last weekend.

With a winning bid of $2.5 million, the 2019 GT Heritage Edition was the highest priced of the three. The 2020 Supra fetched $2.1 million, and the GT500 gaveled for $1.1 million.
The auctioned vehicles are the first production models for the three nameplates. Proceeds of the sales were donated to charities. Prototypes of the new Supra and Shelby Mustang GT500 (pictured) were unveiled last week at the Detroit auto show.
The GT Heritage Edition pays tribute to Ford’s original GT40 racer, which won the Le Mans endurance race four straight years in the 1960s. The vehicle was sold to motorsports owner Rick Hendrick.
Craig Jackson, the CEO and chairman of Barrett-Jackson, was the winning bidder of both the GT500 and the Supra. The latter features an engine cover autographed by Toyota CEO Akio Toyoda.
As part of the purchase, Jackson will drive the pace car at the Toyota Owners 400 at Richmond Raceway in April and get the chance to do hot laps with Michael Waltrip, a three-time NASCAR champion driver.
