Next-Gen Bentley Flying Spur Takes Shape

Volkswagen Group's Bentley unit describes its next-generation Flying Spur sedan as an “innovative grand tourer.”

The 2020 model will continue to share a platform with the Continental GT coupe. But greater styling differentiation is expected between the cars. Bentley released a teaser image of the cars’s exterior earlier today.
 

The Flying Spur’s winged “B” hood ornament retracts into the vehicle when it is parked. At night, the ornament is lighted.

Engine options are expected to include V-8 and W-12 variants. A plug-in hybrid with a V-6 engine also is said to be in the works.

The high-end luxury marque previously has said it will offer an electrified variant of all its vehicles by 2025. Moving forward, the carmaker also plans to focus more on SUV/crossovers and grand touring models rather than sports cars.
