Mahindra & Mahindra Ltd.’s new Automobili Pininfarina unit plans to publicly unveil a concept version of its upcoming PF0 electric hypercar at next month’s Monterey Car Week in California.
The company, which was launched earlier this year, is showing the vehicle to prospective buyers and distributors this week in New York City. Several sketches of the vehicle have been released ahead of the August unveiling.
Power will come from four electric motors that are expected to generate a combined 2,000 hp and propel the 4,400-lb vehicle from zero to 100 kph (62 mph) in less than two seconds. The car’s driving range is estimated at 310 miles.
The PF0 was penned by Luca Borgogno, who previously headed Lamborghini’s Turin design studio. Croatian specialty vehicle maker Rimac Automobil is providing engineering support.
Pininfarina also is planning several electric crossover vehicles. Mahindra is investing $500 million into the venture, starting with $100 million for the PF0 hypercar.RELATED CONTENT
