The Cayenne S Coupe (pictured) and regular Cayenne S each will be available with a twin-turbo 4.0-liter V-8 and an electric motor positioned between the engine and 8-speed Tiptronic gearbox.
Aided by at 14.1-kW battery, the powertrain delivers 670 hp and 663 lb-ft of torque. The system can propel both models to 60 mph in 3.6 seconds and push them to an electronically limited top speed of 183 mph.
A slightly more sedate hybrid option for the E-Hybrid Coupe couples a 3.0-lter turbocharged V-6 engine and electric motor to make 455 hp and 516 lb-ft of torque. This powertrain can propel the Coupe from zero to 60 mph in 4.7 seconds and reach a top speed of 157 mph.
In all-electric mode, the V-8 and V-6 systems can operate at speeds as great as 85 mph and with ranges of as much as 25 and 27 miles, respectively.
The new hybrids are available for order now but won’t reach the U.S. until early next year. Base prices in Europe will range between €96,000 and €176,300.
