Renault SA has appointed new CEO Thierry Bollore as chairman of Renault-Nissan BV, the Dutch holding company that coordinates the carmaker’s 20-year-old alliance with Nissan Motor Co.

Bollore replaces Carlos Ghosn, who also had been Renault’s chairman and CEO until last month. Ghosn remains in jail in Tokyo on charges of financial wrongdoing at Nissan, where he had been chairman.

Renault says Ghosn continues as a member of its board and RNBV. He also retains his chairmanships with Renault do Brasil in Brazil and Alliance Rostec Auto BV in Russia.
