Ricardo Creates Global Auto Group

Ricardo plc is combining its various transportation-related businesses into a new Global Automotive Group.

The business will serve four vehicle sectors: passenger/high performance, commercial and off-road, motorcycles and industrial/defense. Chief Operating Officer Mark Garrett will lead the new unit.

The Automotive Group will provide a global structure to better address customer demands for all aspects of vehicle engineering, Ricardo says. This includes clean powertrain technologies and autonomous driving systems.

The integrated organization will oversee transportation teams at Ricardo’s technical center’s in China, Europe and North America. The latter includes a growing presence in Silicon Valley.
