BMW AG has appointed Rudratej Singh as president and CEO of the company’s operations in India, effective Aug. 1.

He succeeds Vikram Pawah, who took over the helm of BMW Australia/New Zealand last August. Christian Baertels, the carmaker’s regional director of finance and administration, has served as acting president in India since then.

Singh most recently headed Indian motorcycle manufacturer Royal Enfield. He also held executive roles with food and consumer goods giant Unilever in India and other markets.
