Truck Sales Fall 4% Across Europe

Last month’s volumes among Europe’s five largest markets gained in France (+2% to 45,500 vehicles) and Spain (+7% to 19,600). But sales fell in Germany (-4% to 30,100 units), the U.K. (-10% to 29,900) and Italy (-12% to 23,100).
ACEA says full-year deliveries in Europe rose 3% to 2.57 million trucks and buses. In major markets, the 12-month totals rose in France (+5% to 519,300 trucks), Germany (+5% to 386,300) and Spain (+7% to 242,100). Sales declined in the U.K. (-2% to 417,200 units) and Italy (-4% to 211,800).
European demand for heavy-duty trucks dropped 13% to 20,800 units in December but finished the year at 314,400 vehicles, up 3%.
