Truck Sales Gain 7% in Europe

June results were led by an 8% increase to 216,300 in sales of light-duty vehicles. Demand for medium- and heavy-duty trucks advanced only 2%, and bus sales slipped 1%.
Volumes rose last month in France (+3% to 53,900), Germany (+7% to 35,200 units) and Spain (+9% to 23,400). Year-on-year deliveries fell in the U.K. (-8% to 40,100 vehicles) and Italy (-1% to 18,500).
Truck sales across Europe through the first half of 2018 rose 5% to 1.33 million units, according to ACEA.
