VW Group Posts Record Sales in March

Volkswagen AG’s car, van and truck sales grew 5% to a record 1.04 million units last month, fueled by a 10% gain to 391,400 units in Asia Pacific.

Group sales advanced 1% to 479,900 units in Europe, 5% to 83,900 vehicles in North America and 8% to 50,700 cars and trucks in South America. The results contributed to a record first quarter, in which deliveries rose 7% to 2.68 million units.

Worldwide demand for the company’s passenger vehicles climbed 6% to 973,900 units in March and 8% to 2.33 million cars and SUVs in the first quarter.
