Within a decade, some 50 billion-100 billion machines will be linked in a vast Industrial Internet of Things, says Fred Thomas, automotive industry sector director for Dassault Systèmes.

Such a network will offer new levels of efficiency and product quality through manufacturing systems that can self-adjust in real time to changing consumer demand and market feedback.

Thomas says established companies should get started on this transformation now so they will be able to compete with newcomers who won’t have old legacy systems to convert. Dassault can help companies create the tailored strategy and structure they need to help maximize the opportunity.
