Volkswagen AG’s namesake brand expects to sell 300,000 electrified vehicles in China next year and top 1 million such models there by 2025.

The rollout will include a production version of the ID.Next concept electric crossover vehicle the carmaker unveiled in camouflage form (pictured) at the Frankfurt auto show in September. Production of the all-new model will begin by the end of 2020.

VW also will launch 10 plug-in hybrid and EV variants of existing models in China next year.

In addition, 10 electrified models based on VW’s modular MEB electric platform will be introduced by 2023. The array includes local production of the ID.3 small car—the first ID-branded model—by VW’s joint venture with SAIC Motor Corp. in Anting, China.
