Michelin, Faurecia Partner on Fuel Cell JV
French suppliers Michelin & Cie. and Faurecia SA have agreed to create a joint venture that will develop and produce fuel cell systems for passenger vehicles and other applications.

French suppliers Michelin & Cie. and Faurecia SA have agreed to create a joint venture that will develop and produce fuel cell systems for passenger vehicles and other applications.
The 50:50 venture will include Michelin’s Symbio subsidiary, which the tiremaker acquired last month, and will adopt that company’s name. Faurecia will supply its engineering and manufacturing know-how, including some unspecified fuel cell operations.
The partners will continue to work separately on other related projects. This includes Faurecia's partnership with Stelia Aerospace Composites to develop high-pressure hydrogen tanks, and Michelin’s efforts to develop a hydrogen infrastructure with French utility supplier ENGIE.
