Chief Operating Officer Jon McNeill is leaving ride-hailing service Lyft Inc. after 17 months on the job. Lyft plans to abolish the position.

McNeill arrived in February 2018 from Tesla Inc., where he had been president of global sales and service at Tesla Inc. Bloomberg News, citing an internal memo, says the company will assign McNeill’s duties to other executives.

Lyft went public at $72 per share in March, but the stock has been trading at least 9% below that price since mid-April. Investors remain skeptical about the ability of the company and rival Uber Technologies Inc. to become consistently profitable.
